Erika Janik is a writer and editor obsessed with food, the environment, language, farms, architecture, history, and anything else she recently read or saw by night. She is the author of the book Odd Wisconsin: Amusing, Perplexing and Unlikely Stories from Wisconsin's Past (Wisconsin Historical Society Press, 2007) and the forthcoming Short History of Wisconsin (Wisconsin Historical Society Press, 2010). Her story "Good Morning Homemakers!" won the 2007 William B. Hesseltine Award. Erika's work has appeared in Madison's Isthmus, The Onion, MyMidwest, Wisconsin Trails magazine, On Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Magazine of History, and the Wisconsin State Journal, as well as in the book Renewing the Countryside: Wisconsin (University of Wisconsin Press, 2007).
